1. What’s in FRUITeJuice products?
Our juices contain the following four, standard ingredients:
USP Food Grade 99.7% Pure Vegetable Glycerin – VG
USP Food Grade 99.9% Pure Propylene glycol – PG
Propylene glycol based food flavorings
Laboratory Grade Nicotine Solution based with either VG or PG
2. What is Propylene glycol?
Propylene glycol is an organic compound with the chemical formula C₃H₈O₂. It is a viscous colourless liquid which is nearly odourless but possesses a faintly sweet taste. The FDA has classified it as “DIRECT FOOD SUBSTANCES AFFIRMED AS GENERALLY RECOGNIZED AS SAFE”.
3. What is Vegetable Glycerin?
VG is an organic compound that is widely used in the food industry for two main reasons: it has a sweet taste, but has fewer calories than sugar; and it is hygroscopic, that is, it absorbs moisture from the air. It is therefore used both to sweeten foods and to keep them moist. The compound is metabolized more slowly than sucrose — the type of sugar most commonly found in candy and in processed foods — and therefore does not have such a dramatic effect on blood sugar levels. It also does not contribute to bacterial tooth decay. Foods marketed as being low in carbohydrates are often sweetened with glycerin.
4. Is nicotine safe?
Nicotine is a poison. That’s why we intend these liquids to be used only by smokers as a safer alternative to smoking tobacco. Pregnant women should consult their physician before using any nicotine product. We do not offer any nicotine level higher than that in mass market cigarettes.
5. What about these unsafe ingredients I’ve heard about in the news?
We NEVER use them. You’ll never find alcohol, diacetyl or anything but the four ingredients listed above.
6. Why don’t you offer express shipping?
Our juices are largely made to order. Most flavors need some time to “steep”. Flavors steep over the course of days to weeks and they do it well in dark environments. Why not let them steep in a Post Office or delivery truck instead of in your cupboard? Saves you money and you’ll probably enjoy the juice more. Patience is a virtue.
